Jackie Chan's remarks in the attached link relect the kind of thinking that empowers despots, tyrants and dictators.

I am a big fan of Jackie's but it is hypocritical of Chan to make such remarks using his movie as his stump to preach to us about how the Olympics are about peace and brotherhood while the Chinese government represses the people of Tibet.
But I think I know why Chan finds his voice on this topic. He is simply bought and paid for. "Jackie Chan, Zhang Ziyi to sing for Olympic film"

He should have disclosed this when he is making light of the very serious protestors.
Jackie Chan is in the hip pocket of the Red Chinese Government.
His clear message to the people of Tibet, "Shut up and suffer in silence!"
